LPL to Resume Next Week, But Will be Held Online
The Chinese League of Legends league LPL, which was put on pause in late January due to the Coronavirus epidemic, will resume on March 9th. Instead of being held offlane in the venue, the matches will be played online until further notice.
The teams will be competing from their headquarters in the presence of referees that will ensure the fairness of the matches. While the competition will begin on March 9th, the official English broadcast will resume only on March 15th. Prior to that, the viewers will be able to watch the Chinese stream only.
LPL Spring 2020 started this January, the teams had the chance to play only one competitive week until the league was shut down. Currently JD Gaming are on top of the group with the 4-0 score, while eStar Gaming, Invictus Gaming and Top Esports share the second place with the 4-1 score.
The event is scheduled to end in April. It features seventeen teams competing for a $520,000 prize pool and one ticket to Mid-Season Invitational 2020, as well as for qualification points.
