Gambit Esports Bench GPK Due to His Refusal to Partake in Bootcamp
Gambit Esports have benched their mid player Danil "gpk" Skutin. His place will be temporarily taken by Rostislav "fn" Lozovoi.
The organization’s CEO Konstantin Pikiner stated that Virtus.pro approached GPK, after which the player expressed his desire to switch teams. However, the player has an active contract with Gambit Esports and the organization is not interested in selling him. As a result, GPK refused to attend the team’s bootcamp and was benched. According to Pikiner, it is possible that GPK will return to the main roster.
Earlier it was also revealed that Virtus.pro approached Bakyt "Zayac" Emilzhanov from Natus Vincere. The organization also did not want to release the player; however, there was a flaw in his contract and eventually the organization let Zayac go. Besides that, Virtus.pro announced the addition of Zaur "Cooman" Shakhmurzaev, who joined the team as a stand-in.
Danil "GPK" Skutin is a 18-years-old player from Russia, who is believed to be one of the most promising middle laners in the region. He started to play for Gambit Esports last August. This season the team placed 2nd at ESL One Hamburg 2019, 3rd at ONE Esports Invitational Singapore and 4th at WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020. They also attended MDL Chengdu Major, where finished 13-16th.
Rostislav "fn" Lozovoi is 25-years-old Ukrainian player. Since late 2018, when he departed from Team Empire, the player is usually playing as a stand-in for different teams. Last year he placed 2nd at StarLadder Minor Season 1 with Gambit Esports and emerged victorious at Adrenaline Cyber League 2019 with Virtus.pro. This year he played for HellRaisers at Maincast Winter Brawl, where they placed 5-8th after being defeated by OG Seed.
