Cloud9 and Heroic Finalize Line-up for DreamHack Open Leipzig 2020

The regional qualifiers for DreamHack Open Leipzig 2020 have concluded in Europe and North America. Heroic and MAD Lions will be representing the European region, while Cloud9 have won the North American qualifier.

Both qualifiers were held on January 12th and followed the same format, with eight participants competing in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three series. In the European region Heroic outplayed Team Secret (2-1) and Gambit Youngsters (2-0), while MAD Lions defeated SKADE (2-1) and Defusekids (2-0). Meanwhile, Cloud9 managed to place first after beating Triumph (2-0) and Complexity (2-0) and eUnited (2-0).

The main event of DreamHack Open Leipzig 2020 is scheduled for January 24-26th in Germany, where eight teams will compete for a $100,000 prize pool. Earlier organizers invited BIG, North, Renegades, and Virtus.pro, while Sprout secured their spot at the event after placing first at ESL Meisterschaft Winter.
