This weekend concluded the final stage of 2018 Hearthstone Global Games. In the grand finals of a $570,000 event the Chinese national team defeated the representatives of Brazil with the 3-0 score.
2018 Hearthstone Global Games started on July 17th and featured 48 national teams competing for a $570,000 prize pool. Its final stage was held on November 2nd-3rd at Blizzcon and included eight best teams. First, they competed in two GSL groups, and then top two teams from each group advanced to a single-elimination playoffs bracket. All matches within the tournament were best-of-five.
Both China and Brazil placed first in their groups: China defeated New Zealand (3:1) and Hong Kong (3:2) in Group A, while Brazil outplayed Bulgaria (3:0) and Norway (3:1) in Group B. In the semifinals China defeated Norway (3:0), while Brazil were able to beat New Zealand (3:0). The final series concluded with the 3:0 score in favour of China.
