OpTic Gaming Finalized Their Dota 2 Roster
Just a week ago OpTic Gaming parted ways with Martin "Saksa" Sazdov, and already the Dota 2 division of the North American organization found a replacement – welcome Neta "33" Shapira, the former player of Planet Dog.
Peter "ppd" Dager announced on Twitter that 33 joined the team to participate in various qualifiers in January and to play at major tournament Galaxy Battles II. Despite playing as an offlaner in his previous teams, 33 will fill the support role in OpTic Gaming.
Neta "33" Shapira is an Israeli Dota 2 player, who started his professional career in 2015 and used to play for No Logic Gaming, Kaipi, Prodota Gaming, Planet Dog and HellRaisers. With Hellraisers he qualified for The International 2017, but the team failed to make it through the Group Stage and placed 17th-18th. In the post-TI period the team was abandoned by the organization due to disappointing results and failure to qualify for tournaments, but the team stayed together under the old Planet Dog name. The team even managed to qualify to ESL One Genting minor by defeating Team Kinguin in the finals of the EU qualifier, but the player still decided to change his team and move to another region.
Ppd formed this roster in September, which initially consisted of Pajkatt, CC&C, MiSeRy, zai and ppd and was named as The Dire. Later the team was signed by OpTic Gaming and parted ways with MiSeRy, who was replaced by Saksa. Since its inception the team managed to place first at Midas Mode – North America and second at ROG MASTERS 2017, as well as qualify for Dota Summit 8 and Galaxy Battles II.
