FUT, HEROIC, GamerLegion, and fnatic Qualify for CS Asia Championships from Europe
Four teams — FUT, HEROIC, GamerLegion, and fnatic — have secured their spots at the CS Asia Championships after advancing through the European qualifying stage. Now, with a $1 million prize pool on the line, only two slots remain, which will be decided in the Americas and Asia qualifiers.
The biggest surprise of the qualifier came from FUT, who defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas in the decisive match. This will be the first international LAN for the roster, which joined the FUT organization just two weeks ago after transitioning from NAVI Junior.
HEROIC also booked their ticket to the tournament by overcoming Passion UA in a hard-fought best-of-three series. Alkaren, a debutant on loan from Spirit Academy, had a rough start but stepped up on Overpass in the deciding map, leading in key metrics and helping the team punch their ticket to Shanghai.
The remaining European slots went to GamerLegion and fnatic. GamerLegion triumphed over BIG, bouncing back from recent losses at IEM Cologne. For fnatic, this marks their first appearance at a major international LAN since the opening stage of the Shanghai Major, aside from smaller offline events in Prague and Glitched Masters.
The CS Asia Championships will take place from October 14 to 19 in Shanghai. The list of participants: FaZe, paiN, GamerLegion, 3DMAX, Liquid, Virtus.pro, Legacy, TYLOO, Lynn Vision, HEROIC, B8, MIBR, fnatic, FUT, TBD, TBD.
